Thankfully, that never actually happens because anything can be talked about in a social setting.
“Hey guys, did you know that the Christians had lesbians and unwed mothers sexually assaulted and raped in the Victorian era as ‘treatment’?”
New blog. Old blog has been deleted.
About me: just another gay atheist living in the wilderness of Mississippi, who is forced to keep my atheism online and out of the real life. I am an ex-Christian, specifically ex-Catholic. I am fairly knowledgeable about Christianity, esp Catholicism. I have been debating and discussing religion online since I was 15, initially for religion, then questioning it, and now against it.
I know very little about Islam and Judaism, so don't expect me to know much about them. If you do ask me a question about religion, I will try to answer it. I have quit responding to reblogs in general, mostly because their quality tends to suck and I don't have patience for crappy arguments that get held up like divine wisdom by other religious people.
This blog is not meant to be nice towards religion. It contains frank discussions about evils of religion, which includes subjects many people may find to be triggering, including rape/sexual abuse, homophobia, transphobia, and violence.
This is an atheism+ blog, and I focus in on bigotry and prejudice as it comes from religion. If you are looking for someone to excuse evil and bigotry simply because someone's god is commanding it, you're definitely in the wrong case. I am an anti-theist, and I do not make exceptions for any oppressive religions, including Islam (the darling of politically correct atheists these days).
